Personally, you'd get more points from me for if you can quote James Baldwin or if you're knowledgeable about or genuinely interested in learning about my culture beyond popular trends and stereotypes. Johnson wrote for Everyday Feminism: part of Black culture, that has to include learning about the history of what you’re appreciating and about the struggles and achievements of the people you’re borrowing from.
Then you’ll be the kind of ally who’s informed enough to honor our culture in a way that supports us — instead of just taking what you like and hurting our community.

Across the table from me was a South Korean guy who had watched videos of me eating KFC during his time serving for his home country's national military.
He had told me that watching my videos made him happy and miss America.
BUT, from my own observation, Cali people (I visit there frequently) are more open to interracial relationships than here in Texas. Most of the "attractive" black women I have seen in Austin are quite young and not originally from Austin...The reality is, most single black women in Austin end up leaving after so long because they don't find it racially diverse with a sense of culture and opportunities for blacks.
A person could hold on to racist beliefs and still believe that “you’re one of the good ones."You don't have to get fresh cornrows, start listening to trap music, or attempt speaking African-American Vernacular English just because you're trying to date a Black dude. And remember, there's a difference between appreciation and appropriation, as Maisha Z.Support for interracial dating and marriage has been on the rise for decades, and Millennials are particularly accepting: 88 percent of those surveyed by Fusion last year said they were open to dating outside their race. But the reality is that only 54 percent said they had actually done so.Last time I was in Old town SD I could not find a table in the bar we were at that didn't have a mixed couple of some type, and it was a huge place: Mexican, White, Black and mixed all over the place.Get on an interracial dating site and you will see a lot of black women have the Hispanic box checked off on the looking for men section.I'm a Hispanic dude from Cali but I hot stationed in Texas for 3 years, well I love black women and I had serious relationship with a beautiful black women while I was there but I thought I got lucky anywho I'm thinking about moving back to Texas to go to school but I am curious to know if I'll have any luck with black chicks since in Cali lot of people (females mainly) aren't to down for interracial relationships (Mexican and black).
